There was chaos in Turkish football when Adana Demirspor players walked off the pitch during their match against Galatasaray in protest against a penalty.

Alvaro Morata, who had just joined on loan from AC Milan, scored a penalty in the 12th minute. But the match was initially suspended until the 34th minute before being postponed.
The penalty was awarded after Dries Mertens went down. After catching Semih Güler’s leg, which Adana players saw as an attempt to drag his leg to get the penalty.
Adana coach Mustafa Alpepor Aysi called his players to the sidelines when Yussuf Barasi was injured.

Morata was making his third appearance for Galatasaray – he also found the net in a 4-1 victory against Boluspor in the Turkish Cup.
Adana Demirspor have taken just five points from their 21 Super Lig matches so far this campaign.
Fenerbahce replied to a post by Galatasaray by writing: ‘Keep deceiving our state and the Turkish Football Federation with your irregular contracts, black market ticket advertisements and illegal betting, the public with your manipulated media and insincere statements, and the referees and football fans with your football players that you have been trying to deceive for years!’
The announcement on the pitch said: “The game was postponed. By the referee’s order because Adana Demirspor withdrew from the game,”
said former Adana president Metin Korkmaz. “This is a protest against the referees’ committee, not Galatasaray.”
