However, the report says the 22-year-old will be out for up to eight weeks, meaning he will miss the rest of the Bundesliga.
Musiala could still make a comeback if Bayern make it to the Champions League final or the Nations League quarter-finals with his national team in June.
He is the fourth key player to be ruled out of Bayern in recent weeks, with Alphonso Davis, Dayot Upamecano and Hiroki Ito all ruled out with long-term injuries.
Bayern are inching closer to the Bundesliga title, but they still have games against the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Mainz, RB Leipzig and Borussia Mönchengladbach, who are unlikely to be easy opponents.
In the Champions League, Bayern host Inter Milan at home in midweek before travelling to Italy for the second leg on April 16.
